🎬Pine martens are extremely rare in Britain. But, this is the second time anyone has filmed a sighting in the New Forest - with one first caught on camera in 2016.
The mammals are elusive members of the weasel family. Experts say pine martens were widespread throughout the country but their numbers began declining in the south around 200 years ago due to habitat loss and predator control measures.

🎬British Pathé – An item about goats - they are bred for their milk and to help trim the turf roof of the owners log cabin. New Forest, Hampshire. Various shots of a Norwegian style log cabin with a turf roof. On the roof, a goat nibbles the turf to keep it trim, its leash is held by a woman. C/U of a goat. M/S of a goat jumping over a fence. M/S of a herd of goats going into a barn. A woman goes into a pen and separates a Billy from a Nanny goat. She leads the Nanny onto a bench to milk her. Various shots of the goat being milked. M/S of the Billy goats - they are kept away from the Nannies as they make the milk smell (!?). Various shots of Billies in a field butting each other. The goats are all British Toggenburg. 🎬British Movietone - This was Romsey on the day of the wedding: Winter had come to Hampshire. But in spite of the snow, the people of Romsey wanted to see everybody and everything! Seen arriving was Kenneth More, one of the many guests. Then, the arrival of the Royal Family at the station. It was an exciting event for the Prince of Wales and Princess Anne who was to be a bridesmaid for the first time. Next, the arrival at Romsey Abbey: the bridegroom, Mr David Hicks, came with Lord Brabourne, his best man, and the bride, Lady Pamela Mountbatten, with her father, Earl Mountbatten of Burma. After the marriage service, "Broadlands", the Mountbatten home, was the scene of the first reception. There had to be two, so many people wanted to wish the happy pair good luck!
