🎬British Pathé – Air-sea rescue and fire fighting demonstration by RN Fleet Air Arm at Lee-on-Solent. Unissued / unused material. Flying display at Royal Navy Air Station, Lee-on-Solent, Hampshire. 🎬British Movietone - Heavy rain caused the streets of Cowes, Isle of Wight, to be flooded, but it did not deter yachtsmen like Prince Charles from braving the swells of the Solent.

🎬British Movietone - It's the Westland SRN2 again for the first public demonstration over the Solent. Mr Peter Lamb, Chief Test Pilot for Saunders Roe was at the controls, and it wasn't long before the latest "Hoverbus" was bidding up to 60 miles an hour. She can carry up to 66 passengers, and the verdict, a very comfortable ride, with no more than slight pitch and roll. A number of American Naval experts were on this trip. So was the hovercraft's designer.
