🎬British Pathé – Wartime hangars on Salisbury Plain are demolished to give clear view of Stonehenge. Wiltshire. Item title reads - Like a giant cheese cutter. Messrs. Chivers & Sons cut great wartime hangars on behalf of National Trust to give clear view of Stonehenge once again. Salisbury Plain, Wiltshire. 🎬British Movietone - It's the Westland SRN2 again for the first public demonstration over the Solent. Mr Peter Lamb, Chief Test Pilot for Saunders Roe was at the controls, and it wasn't long before the latest "Hoverbus" was bidding up to 60 miles an hour. She can carry up to 66 passengers, and the verdict, a very comfortable ride, with no more than slight pitch and roll. A number of American Naval experts were on this trip. So was the hovercraft's designer.
