MS. Large landing craft on beach, doors open and large Chieftain tank comes ashore. VS. Floating pontoon beaches and various army equipment comes ashore. MS. Army officers watching. MS. DUKW comes ashore and army trucks coming ashore from landing craft. MS. Stalwart lorry coming ashore. (Orig. Neg.) Note: The exercise is titled 'Wagon Trail'. The paperwork includes the an opening address by Brigadier P. H. Henson OBE.

Bournemouth, Hampshire The Prince of Wales' motor car arrives through a route lined with people, cheering and waving. The Prince inspects guards. He wears a suit. He is then seen laying a wreath at a memorial. The Prince, wearing a bowler hat, ceremoniously cuts a ribbon to open something. He can just be seen being driven in the back of an open car and waving. People wave their hats raised up on sticks, and some wave tiny pennants

  • Pony Roundup (1959)

    🎬British Pathé – Three times a year the wild ponies are rounded up. Some go for sale, some are set free, and some injured ponies are cared for, or humanely put down. The sequences show the ponies in the wild - the chase by the four 'Agisters' and their teams. The Agisters each look after a quarter of the forest including the ponies, who are owned by 'Commoners' Horsemen are seen galloping across open land rounding up the ponies. The ponies are herded into pens in a woodland clearing. A man cuts hair from a pony's tail. The story ends with the ponies trotting off having been set free
