M/S as Commodore Sir Edgar Britten's coffin is carried aboard the tug, ensigns are flown at half mast as it is lifted up in a harness then lowered onto a platform. M/S of officers watching. M/S of the coffin. M/S as crew and family come onboard, M/S as they stand on deck with the coffin. M/S's as the tug sails away into the mist

🎬British Pathé – Guest from the world of motoring attend opening of Montagu Motor Museum at Beaulieu. Titles read: "HISTORIC CARS IN NEW MUSEUM". Hampshire. L/S of Beaulieu Abbey with flowers in foreground. Various shots of guests arriving at Palace House, Beaulieu for the opening of the new Montagu Motor Museum. Lord Montagu and his fiancee Belinda Crossley greet people, including the mother of the late Mike Hawthorn, Stirling Moss and his wife Katie. Several shots of veteran cars in the exhibition hall. M/S of Sir Henry Segrave's Sunbeam car. We see the 1906 Renault that Montagu will drive to his wedding. Lord Brabazon of Tara unveils a commemorative plaque on the wall while Stirling Moss, Tony Brooks and Raymond Mays applaud. Outside Beaulieu Abbey the guests watch a drive past of several veteran cars, including an Hispano-Suiza and a Leon Bollee from 1895

🎬British Pathé – Craftsman Henri Baigent finishes a painstakingly detailed model of Jim Clark's Formula One Lotus Ford. Bournemouth, Dorset. Various shots show Formula One driver Jim Clark in a Lotus Ford in the Grand Prix. Commentator says "Now he is dead, the Flying Scot who won more Grand Prix than any other driver". We then see several shots of Henri Baigent working on a miniature model of the Lotus Ford, that was to be presented to Jim Clark to commemorate his Grand Prix victories. Every part of the model is made by hand - extremely detailed work. The story ends with a L/S of Jim Clark driving along after winning a race, with the back of his car covered with flowers. Note: there is a newspaper article on file about Henri and his work

🎬British Pathé – An item about goats - they are bred for their milk and to help trim the turf roof of the owners log cabin. New Forest, Hampshire. Various shots of a Norwegian style log cabin with a turf roof. On the roof, a goat nibbles the turf to keep it trim, its leash is held by a woman. C/U of a goat. M/S of a goat jumping over a fence. M/S of a herd of goats going into a barn. A woman goes into a pen and separates a Billy from a Nanny goat. She leads the Nanny onto a bench to milk her. Various shots of the goat being milked. M/S of the Billy goats - they are kept away from the Nannies as they make the milk smell (!?). Various shots of Billies in a field butting each other. The goats are all British Toggenburg. One of women featured is Mrs. M. E. Platten (sp.)

🎬British Pathé – Wild Dartmoor ponies are rounded up. Devon. Although not filmed in The New Forest, it is a window on the practices of the time: A Dartmoor Study. "Every year a "drift" (or round-up) of the famous Dartmoor ponies takes place - and hundreds are collected." L/Ss of horses trotting across the moors. "The riders, who are mainly the owners of the animals, carry out the round-up - and a hard-riding job it is - " Riders trot away from the camera across the moors. M/S of wild horses run across a little bridge. High angle shot of riders coming down a hill with the wild horses being herded ahead of them. Various shots of the horses being herded.
