  A Date With Nature 2009
in the New Forest

Using the latest hi-tech gadgets, we’re spying on our neighbours in the New Forest this summer.

Watch every move of some of our most secretive birds of prey, including goshawks and hobbies.

See live action unfold in the nest from eggs hatching, to prey arriving and chicks leaving.

It is not just birds of prey that you'll find at the New Forest, though - lapwings, curlews, redshanks, snipe, and woodlarks can all be seen here.

There will be friendly and knowledgeable volunteers on hand to explain what’s happening.

This is a free event, with parking available for a donation.

Opening times
RSPB Staff will be on hand daily
10 am–4.30 pm.

Facilities
There is a large flat screen TV showing live and recorded footage from the nest, and another TV showing a film about other brilliant birds that nest in the New Forest. This site is accessible by wheelchair. There are toilets on site.

How to get there
We are at the Forestry Commission’s New Forest reptile centre, where you can see our six native reptiles. By car, or bike, the centre is 2 miles south west of Lyndhurst off the A35.
