The picture seems a bit dark, and both video and sound have a lot of interference. is there a problem?
Hi,
With the transmitters and receivers having been moved from the Goshawk nest, the system appears to be picking up interference from Bournemouth International Airport. This seems to happen when planes land from a particular direction (ILS). The sound is a different issue and both are being worked on.
I'm delighted that you have managed to position a cam on another Hobby nest, presumably without too much disturbance to the birds. Last year I spent a considerable time observing the behaviour of the adults and nestlings on your fine transmission. I hope you will be able to remove the screen and particularly sound interference. Let's hope this will be a productive nest.
A passing leaf appears to have attached itself to the lens. It is hoped to rectify this shortly.
Thanks to Anthony for his observations: The female does almost all of the incubation, but the male (distinguished by his brighter, cleaner cut plumage) relieved her for 5 mins at 1030 this morning (8th July), probably after delivering prey to her (which we would have known about from their excited calls had the sound been working). Should be about a week to the hatch now.
Thanks for fixing it.
