After much effort, the camera is now in place. The female laid her first egg on April 2nd. She now has three (April 8th). There may be one more to lay, then she will start incubation.
The video feed will be live (technology allowing) for the whole season, so we will hopefully see all the chicks fledge the nest.
WE HOPE YOU ENJOY THE LIVE VIDEO NFG
Wonderfull work!!!
My picture is very out of focus will we see the chicks when they hatch?
The broadband connection to the visitor centre is a little slow at the moment. The picture appears blurred due to the amount of extra compression required to speed it down the line. Hopefully our good friends at BT will have it all tickerdy boo in no time....
All being well you will have a ringside seat for everything from hatching to fledging.
We went to the "Fangs and Feathers" day in the New Forest on Saturday. It was a great experience, we saw lots of Adders and the Goshawk television was really impressive.
There is sound on the TV there.
Thanks to all the staff and volunteers at the Reptile Centre, we've learnt quite a lot about Goshawks and Hobbys.
WELL WORTH A VISIT IF YOU HAVN'T BEEN THERE YET.
