Seaplane Mercury takes off from the roof of the flying boat Maia. Hythe, Kent (incorrect). Various shots of the large flying boat Maia with the smaller seaplane Mercury mounted on its back. Maia glides over the water and takes off; Mercury takes off from the roof of the larger plane in mid-air. Mercury zooms off while Maia returns to the water. Commentator says Mercury is off on a 15 hour test flight around Britain to warm up for a transatlantic crossing. Note: old database records list the location of this story as Portsmouth
